Brief Description of CCA

Our Westwood Brass Band is a musical ensemble consisting of brass and percussion instruments. During band practices, band members will learn music theory, sight-reading and learn how to play brass instruments such as cornets, euphoniums and horns. Through playing music together as an ensemble, band members also learn the important skills of teamwork.

CCA Objectives

Brass Band pupils will be learning:

  • basic breathing techniques

  • buzzing

  • music theory

  • sight reading

  • instruments-playing
