Westwood Primary School (WWPS) Learning for Life Programme (LLP), “Igniting Young Hearts with a Passion for the Community’, is a whole-school approach to character, citizenship and values education through community service and student leadership. It provides Leadership Opportunities for Every Child, Level-Wide Values-in-Action (VIA) projects, and platforms for students to grow as Community Engagement Leaders and Communicators.
Key initiatives in our LLP include:
a. Leadership Opportunities for Every Child, whereby class roles are given to every student, and tiered leadership opportunities ranging from Junior and Senior prefects and CCA leaders are also provided, with specific leadership training in place.
b. Level-Wide Values-in-Action (VIA) Projects and Community Engagement, whereby students show appreciation and render aid to different groups of people, ranging from the school support staff to residents in the Jurong district, using their unique talents, skills and character strengths to benefit the wider community.
